RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s equestrian team finished seventh in the team jumping event at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, held Thursday, October 1, at the Equestrian Park.

The squad, featuring Dirga Wira Ramadan Sahputra, Rahman Setiawan, Marco Hence Wowiling, and Arserl Rizki Brayudha, recorded 69 penalty points to secure seventh place.

Saudi Arabia claimed gold with a flawless performance, registering zero penalties in a clear round. The United Arab Emirates took silver with four penalty points, while host nation Japan matched that tally but settled for bronze.

The result means equestrian has yet to deliver a medal for Indonesia at these Games. Overall, Indonesia currently sit 13th in the medal standings with five golds, seven silvers, and 21 bronzes.

On Thursday, the Red‑and‑White contingent added one gold through archery, as Nurisa Dian Ashrifah triumphed in the women’s compound individual event.

While equestrian fell short of the podium, Indonesia’s broader campaign continues to gain momentum, with archery, badminton, climbing, and weightlifting driving the medal tally and keeping the contingent on track to meet its overall target. ***
