Singapore Archery Open Boosts Indonesia’s Asian Games Readiness

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia strengthened its preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after its recurve archers delivered a strong performance at the Singapore Archery Open 2026 in Bukit Gombak, Singapore, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The Indonesian recurve team collected four gold, one silver and one bronze medals during the two-day competition, giving the six archers selected for the Asian Games valuable experience against international opponents.

The first gold came from Riau Ega Agata Salsabilla in the men’s individual event after defeating Australia’s Christopher Jackson 6-2 in the final, Antara reported.

Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi added a bronze medal after beating Australia’s Peter Boukouvalas 6-0. Meanwhile, Ahmad Khoirul Baasith finished seventh in the men’s individual event.

In the women’s sector, Indonesia placed two representatives in the final. Diananda Choirunisa claimed gold after defeating Rezza Octavia 6-2. Diananda won gold and Rezza took silver, while Fathiyya Erista Maharani finished fifth.

Indonesia added two more gold medals in the team events. Riau Ega, Baasith and Alviyanto defeated Australia 6-2 in the men’s team final. The trio had previously topped the team qualification with 2,021 points.

In the women’s team event, Diananda, Rezza and Fathiyya defeated Salt & Light Archery Club 6-2 to claim gold. Indonesia also finished first in the qualification round with 1,988 points.

The six recurve archers are part of Indonesia’s squad being prepared for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. With the recurve results, Indonesia ended the two-day Singapore Archery Open 2026 with five gold, three silver and one bronze medal from its national team athletes.

A day earlier, the compound event produced one gold through Nurisa Dian Ashrifah and two silver medals from Yurike Nina Bonita Pereira and the women’s team. ***
