Indonesia's Leo/Daniel Beat World No. 1 Pair to Reach China Masters 2026 Round of 16

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian men’s doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin advanced to the round of 16 at the China Masters 2026, after defeating top seeds Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae of South Korea in the round of 32.

Leo/Daniel won in straight sets, 21-19, 21-19, in 42 minutes. The match took place on Court 3 at Shenzhen Arena, China, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

After the match, Leo Rolly Carnando said he was happy to advance to the next round. “Of course, I’m happy that we managed to advance to the next round,” he said.

According to Leo, there was no specific key to their victory over the world’s No. 1 men’s doubles pair. By not rushing their play, Leo/Daniel were able to maintain their focus.

“There was actually no specific key in today’s match. The most important thing for us was to maintain our focus when we were behind or ahead. We also did not want to rush to finish off our opponents,” he said.

He continued that there was also no special preparation to face Kim/Seo. "The important thing was for us to give it our all," he said, adding that the pair also noticed their opponents were not at their top performance. "So, this victory will still be a lesson for us going forward."
