RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — Indonesian state energy company Pertamina has partnered with local sportswear brand Manta Liberta to present eco-friendly jerseys made from recycled waste for the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026. This green initiative is set for the event held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on December 6, 2026.

The use of recycled sportswear demonstrates the company's commitment to holding an environmentally conscious sports event. The organizers are using this momentum, which involves tens of thousands of participants, to educate the global community on the importance of waste management.

VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, emphasized that implementing sustainability principles aims to minimize environmental impact during the event. Through this event, materials previously considered waste are turned back into high-value products.

“The use of eco-friendly jerseys is one of Pertamina's commitments to ensure that the implementation of Eco RunFest 2026 truly prioritizes environmental aspects,” Baron said.

The production of this eco-friendly sportswear is projected to absorb up to 2.5 tons of waste, equivalent to 210,000 used plastic bottles. The material used has earned the international Global Recycled Standard certification and includes performance features such as anti-bacterial properties.

Co-Founder of Manta Liberta, Aldy Nur Prastya, explained that developing recycled products requires deep research and strong cross-sector collaboration. This partnership proves that plastic and textile waste can be transformed into high-quality sportswear.

“In addition to the recycled material aspect, performance features are also key. This recycled jersey material features anti-bacterial, anti-odor, and moisture-wicking properties,” Aldy explained.
