RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis player, Janice Tjen and Polish partner Katarzyna Piter were eliminated from the Cincinnati Open 2026 women’s doubles event in the round of 32 after a closely fought match against China’s Zhang Shuai and Jiang Xinyu.
Janice/Piter lost to Zhang/Jiang 5-7, 7-6, 7-10 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, United States, on Monday, August 17, 2026, local time, according to the WTA.
The Indonesian-Polish pair put up a strong fight throughout the match. They dropped the opening set 5-7 but responded in the second set, winning 7-6 to force a match tie-break, Antara reported.
In the match tie-break, however, Janice/Piter were unable to maintain their momentum as Zhang/Jiang secured a 10-7 victory to end their campaign at the Cincinnati Open 2026.
According to match statistics, Janice/Piter collected 73 total points, while Zhang/Jiang finished with 86. The Chinese pair were also more effective in converting break-point opportunities, taking six of 11 chances compared with five of six converted by Janice/Piter.
On serve, Janice/Piter landed 78 percent of their first serves and won 52 percent of points on those serves. Zhang/Jiang made 71 percent of their first serves and won 67 percent of points behind them.
