RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is targeting stronger triathlon results at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with six athletes selected to compete in individual and mixed relay events.

The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Triathlon Association (PP FTI) has prepared three male and three female athletes for the continental multi-sport event.

"The composition of these athletes may change depending on the athletes’ final condition and updates to the applicable competition regulations," Indonesian Triathlon National Team Manager Reswanda said in Jakarta on Monday, August 10, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The three male athletes are Rashif Amila Yaqin, who will compete in the men’s individual triathlon and mixed relay, Muhammad Noval Ashidiq in the men’s individual triathlon, and Hauqalah Fakhal Arvyello in the mixed relay.

The three female athletes are Martina Ayu Pratiwi, who will compete in the women’s individual triathlon and mixed relay, Kayla Nadia Shafa in the women’s individual triathlon, and Maurizka Nur Azizah in the mixed relay.

Regarding preparations for the 2026 Asian Games, Reswanda said the team held a national training camp earlier this year. “The camp lasted only two months, in January and February, after which FTI continued training independently from March to September,” he explained.

Indonesia is aiming to improve its triathlon performance from the 2022 edition, when Rashifa Amila Yaqin finished ninth in the men’s individual triathlon.

The Indonesian triathlon team is targeting a top-eight finish in the men’s individual event, a top-five finish in the women’s individual event and a top-five finish in the mixed relay. ***
