  • Indonesian national women's 3x3 basketball team is overhauling its physical conditioning and tactical focus ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
  • By boosting physical endurance and high-intensity match experience, Indonesia aims to elevate its international standing and secure podium success against top Asian rivals.

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women’s 3x3 basketball squad is intensifying preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya, Japan, with head coach Deny Sartika emphasizing physical endurance and concentration as key priorities. The Games run from September 19 to October 4.

Deny acknowledged that players have struggled to maintain consistency late in matches due to declining stamina. “So far, the team has not been able to sustain performance until the final minutes, as physical strength tends to drop midway,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The focus on conditioning follows evaluations from recent appearances at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series in Batam and Tokyo. Alongside fitness, Deny stressed the need to sharpen concentration after costly errors against Lion City in Tokyo.

To address these issues, the coaching staff will introduce high‑intensity training sessions designed to build strength and improve focus. Progress will be tested through trial matches against men’s college‑age teams, expected to provide stronger pressure.

In these scrimmages, players will compete in two 10‑minute halves, mirroring real game conditions. The aim is to ensure the squad can sustain performance throughout regulation play.

By combining physical conditioning with mental discipline, Indonesia’s women’s 3x3 team hopes to enhance competitiveness and consistency as they prepare for the continental stage in Japan. ***
