Indonesian Tennis Player Aldila Sutjiadi Wins WTA 500 DC Open Title

RRI.CO.ID, Washington D.C. - Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi won the women's doubles title at the WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open 2026. The final took place in Washington D.C., United States, on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
She secured the title with New Zealand's Erin Routliffe after defeating Slovenia's Andreja Klepac and Japan's Makoto Ninomiya. The second-seeded pair won convincingly with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
The final lasted one hour and 12 minutes at the William H. G. Fitzgerald Tennis Center. Aldila and Routliffe broke their opponents' serve in the opening game of the first set.
Klepac and Ninomiya briefly leveled the score at 4-4 during the opening set. Aldila and Routliffe regained control by breaking serve again before taking the set 6-4.
The Indonesian and New Zealand pair maintained their momentum throughout the second set. They broke serve three times before closing the match with a dominant 6-1 victory.
Before the final, Aldila anticipated the consistent performances shown by Klepac and Ninomiya throughout the tournament. She also viewed Klepac's experience as a former top-10 doubles player as their biggest advantage.
According to WTA statistics, Aldila and Routliffe outperformed their opponents in several key categories. They fired two aces and won 69 percent of points behind their first serve.
The pair also converted four of six break-point opportunities during the match. Klepac and Ninomiya converted only one of their three break-point chances.
The Washington title became Aldila's second WTA 500 doubles crown this season after winning the Bad Homburg Open. The result provides positive momentum ahead of the United States hard-court swing and the 2026 US Open.
