RRI.CO.ID, Lombok – Round 3 of the 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series (MRS) proved that Indonesia has many talented young riders in the world of motorsports. This national-level competition, hosted by Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina, successfully attracted the attention of motorcycle racing enthusiasts worldwide due to its high level of competition.

As quoted in a written press release from Pertamina on Monday, July 28, 2026, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara witnessed intense competition among 107 riders from July 24 to 26, 2026. Participants competed across six different classes, including National Sport 250cc and Supersport 600.

The organizers implemented a Q1 and Q2 qualifying system similar to world championship standards such as MotoGP. The implementation of these rules aims to familiarize riders with international regulations from a young age.

Pertamina MRS Executive Chairman Arif Syahbani explained the rationale behind the new rules. "The implementation of these regulations is part of an effort to equip Indonesian racers with experience and an understanding of international competition standards from an early age, so that they are better prepared to compete at higher levels," Arif said.

Pride Motorsport CEO Eddy Saputra added that the riders' technical skills have shown tremendous improvement. Support from the main sponsor has also helped ensure the smooth development of these young athletes.

"The competition in Round 3 was even tighter and more exciting. I’d like to thank Pertamina for its consistent support, which ensures the development of young Indonesian racers continues and opens opportunities for them to excel at both the national and international levels," Eddy stated.

This support was reaffirmed by Pertamina’s VP of Corporate Communications, Muhammad Baron, who personally presented the trophies to the winners. Baron said, "Pertamina is working to build an automotive ecosystem for the domestic racing scene, so that racers have a platform for national-level competition, which serves as a stepping stone to competing in larger, international-level racing events."

Several riders managed to claim victory, including Arai Agaska Dibani Laksana in the Supersport 600 class and Irfan Ardiansyah in the National Sport 250cc class. The success of this event reinforces Mandalika’s position as a hub for the future development of motorcycle racing in Asia.
