RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s golfers are set for another test on the Asian stage as the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament 2026 returns to the Asian Development Tour (ADT) calendar, offering local professionals a rare chance to sharpen their skills against international competition.

Chairman of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation, Nararya Ciputra Sastrawinata, said hosting an international tournament at home is vital for the growth of Indonesian golf.

“Competing in an international event here not only provides new experience but also broadens exposure and insight, preparing our athletes for future global tournaments,” he noted at a press conference in South Tangerang, as quoted by Antara.

The tournament, scheduled for August 26–29 at Damai Indah Golf BSD Course, will feature 150 players, including 40 Indonesian professionals.

First staged in 2014 by the late Ciputra, the event has consistently served as a platform for Indonesian golfers to measure themselves against overseas talent.

President Director of PT Damai Indah Golf and co‑founder of the tournament, Budiarsa Sastrawinata, emphasized its original mission: to give Indonesian golfers the chance to face international opponents and build the confidence needed to one day become champions.

Asian Development Tour representative Teddy Jubilant praised the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament as one of the most consistent fixtures on the ADT calendar, noting that past winners such as Tom Kim, Suteepat Prateeptienchai, Miguel Carballo, and Matt Killen have gone on to succeed internationally.

Chairman of the Professional Golf Association Tour of Indonesia, Agus Triyono, added that the event is eagerly awaited by both local and foreign players for its competitive edge.

He highlighted that while Indonesian golfers already show strong technical skills and winning mentality, consistency across all rounds remains the key challenge.

With a prize pool of USD 150,000 (around IDR 2.7 billion), the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament 2026 continues its legacy as one of the most enduring and prestigious events on the Asian Development Tour. ***
