RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian women's national team player Sheva Imut expressed mixed emotions after helping Garuda Pertiwi successfully defend the 2026 AFF Women's Cup, describing the achievement as a moment of pride, joy, and gratitude.

Garuda Pertiwi secured the championship after defeating Laos 5-0 in the 2026 AFF Women's Cup final. The victory marked Indonesia's second title after winning the tournament in 2024.

Sheva said the team's journey to the final provided valuable experience for every member of the squad. She was proud to have another opportunity to defend the championship alongside her teammates.

"I definitely feel proud, happy, emotional, and touched. It's a mix of emotions," Sheva said on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to fight for the title once again. Wearing the number 10 jersey, Sheva said she enjoyed the team's journey throughout the tournament.

"I'm grateful that this year I was given another opportunity to defend the title. Alhamdulillah," she said.

Sheva also praised the players' determination and the support they received throughout the 2026 AFF Women's Cup. She hopes the achievement will motivate the team as they prepare for future competitions.

The 2026 AFF Women's Cup title became Indonesia's second championship in the tournament's history, further strengthening Garuda Pertiwi's record in Southeast Asian women's football.
