RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s top Free Fire teams are shifting their focus to the Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia (FFWS SEA) 2026 Fall. The tournament offers another chance to qualify for the FFWS Global Finals 2026 and compete in front of home fans when the regional Grand Finals take place in Surabaya, East Java.

According to a statement from Free Fire developer and publisher Garena Indonesia on Monday, July 20, 2026, FFWS SEA 2026 Fall will begin in August as the Southeast Asian qualifying tournament for the FFWS Global Finals in Bangkok, Thailand, Antara reported.

Indonesia will field five teams in the regional competition. In addition to fighting for places at the world championship, this season carries added significance as the FFWS SEA Grand Finals will return to Surabaya, which previously hosted the FFWS SEA 2024 Fall Grand Finals.

The shift in focus comes after Indonesia failed to defend its Free Fire title at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 in Paris, France.

RRQ Kazu recorded the country’s best result by finishing ninth in the Grand Finals with 56 points. Defending champion EVOS Divine placed 10th with the same number of points, while Bigetron by Vitality was eliminated in the Survival Stage and missed out on the Grand Finals.

Despite missing the title, all three Indonesian teams earned prize money from the tournament’s total prize pool of USD 1 million. RRQ Kazu received USD 26,000, EVOS Divine earned USD 22,000, and Bigetron by Vitality took home USD 11,000. `

The EWC 2026 Free Fire crown went to LYON from Mexico, who secured victory in the seventh game under the Champion Rush format.

The triumph made LYON the first Mexican team to win a Free Fire world title at the Esports World Cup, ending the dominance of champions from Thailand and Indonesia over the previous two editions.

LYON’s road to the championship was far from straightforward. The team failed to qualify directly from the Group Stage and had to advance through the Survival Stage to reach the Grand Finals.

In the title match, LYON entered Champion Rush after surpassing 80 points before sealing the championship with a Booyah in the seventh game, finishing with 155 points overall.
