RRI.CO.ID Jakarta - Indonesian men's national volleyball team opened SEA V Cup 2026, Southeast Asian men's volleyball tournament, with a convincing victory, defeating Cambodia 3-0.
The win at Candon City Arena, Philippines, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, boosted Indonesia's chances of advancing to the semifinals.
Assistant coach Nur Widayanto said the coaching staff had studied Cambodia's playing style since the morning, and the analysis proved crucial to Indonesia's dominant performance.
"Cambodia's number nine struggled with ball reception. We targeted our serves toward him, and it resulted in many points," he said on Thursday, July 16.
Nur added that tactical substitutions also helped change the momentum of the match. Rama and Dio replaced Alfin and Nibras to adjust the team's rhythm.
"We brought in Rama and Dio as part of our rotation strategy. The changes helped Indonesia win the third set and motivated the players," he concluded. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
