RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s national football team had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Cambodia in their final Group B match of the AFF Women’s Cup 2026, played at UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, on Thursday evening, July 16.

The result left Garuda Pertiwi in second place with four points, level with Cambodia but trailing on goal difference. Despite dominating possession and creating chances, Indonesia struggled to break down Cambodia’s compact defense, Antara reported.

Head coach Satoru Mochizuki kept faith with a largely unchanged lineup, and his side pressed aggressively from the outset, dominating possession with 57 percent in the first half.

The breakthrough arrived in the 41st minute when Estella Loupatty’s effort was poorly cleared, allowing Sheva Imut to pounce and put Indonesia ahead 1‑0.

Cambodia responded after halftime, opening up their play and capitalizing on a lapse in Indonesia’s defense just three minutes into the second half.

The equalizer shifted momentum, and although Indonesia tried to attack through the wings, Cambodia’s disciplined back line held firm until the final whistle.

The draw highlighted Indonesia’s difficulty in converting dominance into decisive victories, a challenge they must address as they prepare for the next stage of regional competition. ***
