RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's growing presence in international motorcycle racing is driving unprecedented enthusiasm for the 2026 Indonesia MotoGP, with early-bird tickets selling out within a week. as home riders Mario Aji and Veda Ega Pratama prepare to compete in front of local fans.
Organizers believe the momentum will boost attendance and further strengthen Indonesia's reputation as a major motorsport destination in Southeast Asia.
InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Operations Director Troy Reza Warokka said early ticket sales have generated an estimated IDR 2.4 billion (around USD 147,000), reaching the milestone much earlier than last year.
"Sales have already reached around IDR 2.4 billion. Last year, it took until about a month before the event to reach that figure," Troy said in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
He attributed the strong demand to the confirmed participation of two Indonesian riders, Mario Aji in Moto2 and Veda Ega Pratama in Moto3, both of whom are expected to attract greater support from local fans.
"Ticket sales have reached that level while there is still plenty of time before the event. That's why we are promoting the hashtag Indonesia Mendunia (Indonesia Goes Global), because if not now, when?" he said.
The 2026 Indonesia MotoGP is scheduled to take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, from October 9 to 11.
This season marks the first time Indonesia will have two riders competing during its home MotoGP weekend, a milestone ITDC believes will significantly increase public interest and spectator turnout compared with previous editions.
Beyond the participation of Mario and Veda, organizers are also preparing expanded entertainment and sportainment programs to enhance the race weekend experience and attract fans from across Indonesia and abroad. ***
