RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women’s doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari continued their strong run on the international stage, advancing to the second round of the BWF World Tour Super 750 Japan Open 2026 in Tokyo on Tuesday, July 14.

Ana and Trias secured their place with a convincing straight-game victory over Taiwan’s Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun, winning 21–16, 21–8 in the round of 32.

“Alhamdulillah, everything went well today. We were given the win without injury. At the start of the first game, we were still following our opponents’ pattern,” Trias said in an official statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) after the match, as quoted by Antara.

The Indonesian duo initially struggled to impose their game, but after the interval they shifted the tempo and began dictating play.

“After the first-game interval, we changed our pattern and tempo, no longer following theirs. It worked well, and we carried it into the second game. We anticipated their long rallies effectively,” Ana explained.

The adjustment allowed Ana and Trias to dominate the second game, adapting to the faster shuttlecock speed and breezy court conditions. “Compared to yesterday, the court felt different. The shuttlecock was faster, perhaps due to the wind,” Ana noted.

Looking ahead, the pair will face China’s Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning in the second round on Thursday, July 16. Trias stressed the importance of starting strong. “Against Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning, we want to play well. We must stay focused from the very beginning,” she said.

Ana and Trias hope to build on their positive momentum following solid performances at the Indonesia Open and Australian Open. “After good results in the Indonesia Open and Australian Open, we want to keep giving our best,” Ana added. ***
