RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - IPB University’s student volleyball club has delivered a stunning performance on the international stage, clinching first place in the men’s, women’s, and mixed categories at the Asian Volleyball Solidarity Games (AVSG) Series 1, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 1–6, 2026.
The tournament, featuring non-professional student athletes, brought together 12 teams from nine countries including India, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Brunei, Myanmar, and Malaysia.
Team captain Putratama expressed gratitude to players, supporters, and donors whose contributions made the victory possible.
“This result proves we can compete and give our best for IPB University," he said, as quoted on the university's official website on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
"We are committed to consistently achieving at both national and international levels,” he added, urging continued support from the university’s student affairs directorate.
Beyond team success, IPB athletes also earned individual honors. Among them: Akmal Firdaus (Best Outside Hitter, Men), Muhammad Dinar (Best Setter and MVP, Men), Ai Nur Ajijah (Best Outside Hitter and MVP, Women), and several others across key positions. Coaches M. Ridho and M. Khasanul Khuluq were also recognized.
Supervisor for Student Character and Organization Development, Nur Fajri Rahmawati, praised the achievement as a milestone for IPB students’ international contributions.
Director of Student Affairs, Akhmad Arifin Hadi, added that the accomplishment reflects students’ ability to balance academics, training, and excellence.
“This is not only about sport, but also about discipline and commitment. We will continue to support student organizations that excel nationally and internationally,” he said.
