RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's speed climber Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi has climbed to the top of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) women's speed world rankings after winning the World Climbing Series Krakow 2026 in Poland, a milestone expected to strengthen Indonesia's confidence ahead of the 2026 Asian Games.

"The ranking is important because it gives athletes greater confidence heading into the 2026 Asian Games," Indonesia's national speed climbing coach Galar Pandu Asmoro said in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

According to Galar, a higher world ranking is crucial in building athletes' confidence as they prepare for upcoming international tournaments.

Desak secured the world No. 1 position after winning the women's individual speed gold medal at the World Climbing Series Krakow, held on July 3-5. The victory added to her accumulated ranking points from previous IFSC World Climbing Series events.

According to IFSC data, her position was further strengthened by additional points earned from the women's speed relay event, where she claimed a bronze medal. The Bali-born climber now leads the rankings with 3,670 points.

"The achievement also shows that Indonesia remains highly competitive in the speed discipline," Galar said.

Poland's Aleksandra Miroslaw sits second with 3,610 points, followed by compatriot Natalia Kalucka in third with 3,495 points.

China's Yafei Zhou ranks fourth with 3,422 points, while Jimin Jeong of South Korea and Emma Hunt of the United States occupy fifth and sixth places with 3,286 and 3,203 points, respectively.

Among Indonesia's other women's speed climbers, Rajiah Salsabillah is ranked 15th with 1,903 points, while Kadek Adi Asih is 23rd with 982 points.

In the men's rankings, Raharjati Nursamsa is Indonesia's highest-ranked athlete in seventh place with 2,750 points. He is followed by Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi in 16th with 1,545 points, Veddriq Leonardo in 22nd (1,172), Kiromal Katibin in 24th (1,119), Aditya Tri Syahria in 26th (985), and Alfian Muhammad Fajri in 53rd (193).

Under IFSC regulations, athletes earn ranking points at each World Climbing Series event, meaning the world rankings remain dynamic and can change throughout the season. ***
