RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian national climbing team is prioritizing athlete recovery ahead of the World Climbing Series Chamonix 2026 in France, as the country's climbers seek to maintain their momentum on the international circuit and maximize their performance in the upcoming competition.

Assistant coach Fitriyani said the Indonesian speed climbing squad arrived in France at 2 a.m. local time (7 a.m. Jakarta time) after competing in the Krakow Series in Poland just two days earlier, allowing the athletes time to recover before returning to competition.

"So, on July 7 and 8, all seven athletes will have full rest," Fitriyani said from Jakarta on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Despite the recovery period, the athletes will continue adapting to local conditions. "After that, there will be a light training session before the competition starts on July 10," she said.

Although the team faces a demanding schedule between two competitions in different countries, Fitriyani said the athletes remain highly motivated to continue their campaign at the Chamonix World Climbing Series.

Indonesia's speed team, led by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, will compete in both the men's and women's individual speed events.

The Indonesian Sport Climbing Association (FPTI) has sent 10 athletes to the World Climbing Series Chamonix 2026, scheduled for July 10-12 in France, comprising seven speed climbers and three lead climbers.

National team manager Wahyu Pristiawan Buntoro said the speed squad competing in Chamonix is the same lineup that participated in the Krakow round from July 3-5, enabling them to travel directly to France.

"Meanwhile, the lead team and I departed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for Chamonix on Wednesday (July 8)," Pristiawan said on Monday, July 4.

Indonesia's men's speed squad consists of Veddriq Leonardo, Raharjati Nursamsa, Aditya Tri Syahria, and Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, while the women's team includes Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Raji'ah Sallsabillah, and Kadek Adi Asih.

In the lead discipline, Indonesia will be represented by Putra Tri Ramadani, known as Srondeng, Ravianto Ramadhan, and Alma Ariella Tsany. ***
