RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s men’s singles shuttler Fardhan Rainanda Joe has advanced to the final of the Asian Junior Championships 2026, after a dramatic semifinal victory over China’s Luo Yu Jing in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Fardhan battled through a tense three-game match, winning 21-16, 15-21, 23-21. The result not only secured his place in the final but also gave him revenge against Luo, the seventh seed, who had defeated him at the Asian Youth Games 2025.

“Today’s match drained a lot of energy because the points were tight and my opponent refused to give in. There was pressure since I lost to him last year, so I was motivated to take revenge,” Fardhan said in a statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), as quoted by Antara.

He credited his victory to mental strength and playing without fear. “My coach reminded me to play freely, without burden, because nothing is impossible,” he added.

Looking ahead, Fardhan acknowledged the need to prepare both physically and mentally for the final. “Tomorrow I must strengthen my mindset because my opponent already knows my game. I ask all Indonesians to keep supporting me until I become champion,” he concluded.

In the final, Fardhan will face another Chinese player, Hong Tian Yue, in what promises to be a high-intensity clash. ***
