RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s U18 women’s volleyball squad secured a place in the quarterfinals of the Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship (AVC U18) after sweeping the Philippines in straight sets during their final Group C match in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on Friday, June 3, 2026.
The 3–0 victory (25–22, 25–13, 28–26) lifted Indonesia to second place in the group standings behind Japan. The result sets up a quarterfinal clash against host nation Thailand, who topped Group A.
The win was particularly significant as the Philippines had previously edged Indonesia 3–2 in the Princess Cup 2026.
This time, however, Indonesia delivered a more disciplined and effective performance--closing out the first set 25–22, dominating the second with 25-13, and holding their nerve in a tight third set to seal the match 28–26, Antara reported.
Indonesia’s group stage campaign began with a 0–3 loss to Japan, though the team pushed the second set to deuce. They rebounded strongly with a straight‑sets victory over Iran (25–15, 25–17, 25–22), keeping their qualification hopes alive before confirming their quarterfinal berth against the Philippines. ***
