Indonesia's Devin/Faathir Target Sharper Focus After Macau Open 2026 Final Loss

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian young men’s doubles pair Devin Artha Wahyudi and Ali Faathir Rayhan are treating their runner‑up finish at the Macau Open 2026 as a valuable lesson, vowing to sharpen focus and composure in matches ahead.

The duo admitted that lapses in concentration while holding the lead remain a key issue to address before upcoming tournaments.

“Our main evaluation is focus, because too often when we’re ahead, we end up being caught,” Ali Faathir Rayhan said in a statement from Jakarta on Sunday, June 21, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

In the final of the BWF World Tour Super 300 event, Devin/Faathir fell to South Korea’s Jin Yong/Lee Jongmin 21‑18, 19‑21, 10‑21. Faathir noted that the turning point came when their opponents erased the deficit in the second game. “Once they caught up, they grew more confident and stronger in defense,” he said.

Devin added that nerves played a role when the Koreans mounted their comeback. “Alhamdulillah we finished without injury, but we lost focus and composure when they chased us,” he explained.
