RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian climber Putra Tri Ramadani narrowly missed the podium at the World Climbing Innsbruck 2026 on Monday, June 22, after finishing fourth in the men's lead final, reinforcing his emergence as one of the sport's rising competitors on the international stage.
Putra delivered a strong performance in the final, recording a score of 40+, placing him just one position outside the podium, Antara reported. His score matched that of Czech climbing legend Adam Ondra, who finished fifth after losing on countback based on results from previous rounds.
The men's lead final featured a tightly contested battle among some of the world's top climbers.
Japan's Neo Suzuki claimed the title with a score of 42+, while Spain's Alberto Gines Lopez secured second place with the same score. Austria's Jakob Schubert completed the podium in third with 42 points.
Despite narrowly missed a medal, Putra's result highlighted his growing consistency in the lead discipline, which has long been dominated by the sport's elite climbers.
The performance in Innsbruck also continued the Indonesian athlete's strong momentum in 2026. Earlier this month, Putra made history by winning the gold medal at the World Climbing Series Prague 2026 in the Czech Republic.
