RRI.CO.ID, Central Lombok - Indonesia is preparing to once again take center stage in the global MotoGP calendar as Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 approaches.
The InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure the event meets international standards set by Dorna Sports and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).
Chairman of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, Troy Reza Warokka, said in a statement from Central Lombok on Thursday, June 18, 2026, that organizers are working to deliver an optimal event that provides the best experience for all involved.
“Every MotoGP series has its own characteristics and appeal,” he noted, as quoted by Antara.
Troy Warokka emphasized the unique position of the Mandalika International Circuit, which blends the prestige of world-class motorcycle racing with the beauty of Indonesia’s tourism destinations.
“MotoGP in Mandalika is not only about sports entertainment, but also an opportunity to showcase Indonesia’s culture, hospitality, and tourism potential to a global audience,” he said.
He added that preparations are focused on safety, comfort, and memorable experiences for participants and visitors alike. The race is scheduled for October 9–11, 2026 at The Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara.
Warokka underlined the broader significance of Indonesia’s role in the MotoGP calendar. “This event is a momentum to demonstrate our nation’s capacity in hosting world-class international sports," he said.
"The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia strengthens Indonesia’s position as a global sport tourism destination and serves as a showcase of our natural beauty, culture, and hospitality,” he concluded.
