RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia officially dispatched the Garuda Muda Indonesia Student Football Team in the U-12 and U-14 categories to participate in the AFC Vietnam Hanoi International 2026 in Vietnam. A total of 24 young players will represent Indonesia in this international student football competition.

The release of the team was represented by the Middle Expert Planner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ambar Basuki at Jakarta, on Monday, June 15, 2026. In his speech, Ambar Basuki, stated that the departure of this team marks a proud moment for the national sports scene, particularly for the development of youth football in Indonesia.

"Today is a very proud moment. We are sending off the nation's best sons who have gone thru a long process of training, selection, and preparation to represent Indonesia in the international student football tournament," he said.

He emphasized that the participation of the Garuda Muda Indonesia Team is not just for competition, but also as a representation of the spirit, character, discipline, and future of national football.

Ambar also emphasized that in the development of youth football, victory is not the only main goal. Experience competing at the international level is considered more important as a means of learning and character building for athletes.

"We hope that the athletes can demonstrate the character of Indonesian students and athletes who are integral, disciplined, resilient, respectful of opponents, and uphold international friendship," he explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized the Ministry of Youth and Sports' commitment to supporting the development of youth sports as part of strengthening the national sports achievements in the future. "Investing in the younger generation now is believed to be an important capital for Indonesia to excel on the world stage in the future," he said.

At the end of the event, Ambar Basuki advised all team members to compete with full enthusiasm and uphold Indonesia's good name on the international stage.
