RRI.CO.ID Jakarta - Indonesian veteran table tennis duo, Olympian Ismu Harinto and Lieng Lieng Minangmojo, staged a dramatic comeback to clinch the mixed doubles 50 crown at the ITTF World Masters Championships Gongneung 2026 in South Korea.

Facing home favorites Yong Hyeon Jo and Sun Ah Kim in the final at Gangneung Olympic Park, Ismu/Lingling fell behind after dropping the first two sets 9–11, 9–11.

With the title slipping away, they regrouped with renewed composure and aggression, winning the next two sets 11–6 and 11–7 to force a decider. In the tense rubber game, the Indonesians held their focus to seal victory 11–8, completing a 3–2 turnaround.

“Since joining Wu Sport under Suroso Hartono’s management, we’ve received excellent support, especially in match preparation and strategy,” Ismu said in a statement, as quoted by Antara.

“We found the right momentum to turn things around, and this championship proves the hard work of the entire team," he added.

The triumph adds another highlight to Ismu’s storied career, having represented Indonesia at the Sydney 2020 Olympics, and marks a proud achievement for Indonesian table tennis on the international stage. ***
