RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia celebrated a breakthrough in junior triathlon as Keanan Roland and Mauriska Azizah delivered a gold-and-silver finish at the 2026 Junior Triathlon Asia Cup in Kampar, Perak, Malaysia, on Saturday, June 13.
Keanan captured gold in the men’s Sprint Triathlon Elite, outpacing the Philippines’ Darell Bada, who took silver, and Saudi Arabia’s Feher Moussa, who claimed bronze.
Mauriska added to the triumph with silver in the women’s Sprint Triathlon Elite, sharing the podium with Russia’s Elizaveta Polianskaia (gold) and Anastasiia Romanenko (bronze).
The achievement drew praise from Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Chairman Marciano Norman, who commended both athletes and the Indonesian Triathlon Federation led by Armand van Kempen.
“I hope today’s success inspires other Indonesian triathletes to aim for international achievements, while also serving as valuable evaluation for future development,” Marciano said, as quoted by Antara. ***
