RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) celebrated a strong showing in Round 3 of the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2026, as Irfan Ardiansyah and Herjun Atna Firdaus both secured podium finishes in Race 1 at Mobility Resort Motegi, Japan, on Saturday, June 13.

Competing in the Asia Production (AP) 250 class, Irfan delivered a spirited performance to take second place behind Honda Racing Team Vietnam’s Hiroki Ono, who clocked 21 minutes 34.483 seconds, Antara reported.

The race unfolded dramatically, with Ono leading from the start before Riichi Takahira seized control on lap seven. The Japanese rider held the advantage until the final two laps, but Ono and Irfan executed decisive maneuvers in the closing stages to claim first and second, leaving Riichi in third.

“I’m very happy to finish on the podium. Thank you to the team--I’ll work harder tomorrow to aim for victory,” Irfan said in a team statement.

Meanwhile, Herjun Atna Firdaus impressed in the Supersports (SS) 600 category, fighting back from a poor start to clinch third place. The race was won by Japan’s Hikari Okubo of SANWA Racing Team, who set the pace with a time of 22 minutes 51.414 seconds.

“Alhamdulillah, I managed to reach the podium. It means a lot despite the difficult start. I tried to stay calm and battle with the other riders and finally secured P3. Thanks to the team and everyone for the support,” Herjun reflected. ***
