RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Organizers of the Indonesian MotoGP are intensifying preparations for the 2026 edition of the race, with a renewed focus on coordination, tourism promotion, and ensuring local communities benefit from the event's economic impact.

The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) has been working closely with the Central Lombok Regency Administration and the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Administration to finalize plans for the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP and the broader event calendar at Mandalika International Circuit.

"Strengthening coordination is the key to successfully hosting a busy schedule of international and national racing events at Indonesia's pride and joy, Mandalika Circuit," MGPA President Director Ananda Mikola said in Central Lombok on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

During a meeting with West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, Mikola outlined several strategic programs currently under development.

Among the top priorities discussed was the circuit's technical readiness ahead of the world's premier motorcycle racing championship.

MGPA is also preparing a series of supporting activities under a "Road to MotoGP" campaign.

The pre-event program is expected to feature a range of interactive activities designed to engage stakeholders and build anticipation ahead of the race weekend.

"We are not only focused on race day. The Road to MotoGP program is being prepared to involve various parties through a number of interactive activities," Mikola said.

The organizer is also planning several initiatives aimed at increasing enthusiasm among both domestic and international audiences.

These efforts are expected to strengthen Mandalika's position as one of Indonesia's leading sports tourism destinations while expanding tourism promotion for West Nusa Tenggara.

Mikola emphasized that the success of the MotoGP cannot rely on a single institution and requires support from all stakeholders to maximize benefits for the region and its communities.

Following discussions in Mataram, Mikola also met with Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri. Both parties agreed that the economic benefits generated by events at Mandalika should be felt directly and evenly by local residents.

The expected impact extends across accommodation providers, transportation services, and small and medium-sized enterprises operating around the circuit.

According to Mikola, strong relationships and continuous communication between MGPA and local administrations are essential to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Mandalika circuit.

"We believe Mandalika's success cannot be achieved alone. It requires strong synergy between the circuit operator, local administrations, communities, and all stakeholders," he concluded. ***
