RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Persija Jakarta remains committed to developing young players despite the demands of competing for success in the Super League. The club believes its new era under Shin Tae-yong will further strengthen that commitment.

Shin Tae-yong’s track record of consistently giving opportunities to young players is seen as a positive sign for Persija’s long-term regeneration process.

“There are quite a lot of young players in Indonesia. For the future of Indonesian football, we must give young players more opportunities to play,” Shin Tae-yong said, as quoted on Persija’s official website on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

“Young Indonesian players need to develop through real match experience. That is the only way Indonesian football can progress, and I have always held on to that principle,” he added.

Persija concluded its 2025/2026 Super League campaign by continuing its tradition of recognizing young players who made their first-team debuts. The five debutants this season were Arlyansyah Abdulmanan, Jehan Pahlevi, Figo Dennis, Dia Syayid, and Hafizh Rizkianur.

Over the past five seasons, a total of 23 graduates from Persija’s Elite Pro Academy (EPA) have been promoted to the senior team and made their professional debuts with the club.

The record serves as clear evidence that Persija’s youth development pathway continues to produce a sustainable flow of talent.

Shin Tae-yong acknowledged that circumstances can change depending on the situation, but he remains convinced that young Indonesian players must grow through competitive match experience.

This principle is expected to serve as the foundation for Persija as the club continues to balance youth development with its ambition to achieve success at the highest level. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
