RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama and M. Reza Pahlevi Isfahani advanced to the semifinals at Indonesia Open 2026 after defeating Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi in straight games.

Sabar/Reza secured a 21-15, 21-15 victory at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, June 5, 2026, avenging their previous defeat against the Chinese pair. The head-to-head record between the two pairs is now tied at 1-1.

Reza said the support from the crowd provided extra motivation throughout the match. He said the lively atmosphere at Istora boosted their confidence and helped them play with greater enthusiasm. "The supporters at Istora were incredible," he said.

Sabar felt that the strategy prepared for the match worked according to plan. He was also grateful that they maintained consistency throughout the contest. "We were able to execute what coach Hendra instructed," he said, adding that their game plan ran smoothly from start to finish.

In the semifinals, Sabar/Reza will face fellow Indonesians Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin. Raymond/Joaquin advanced after defeating Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi.

Reza described their upcoming opponents as a pair with high speed and confidence. Those qualities, he said, will be the main focus ahead of the semifinal clash. "We have to stay fully focused and avoid losing concentration. In terms of their game, they are really fast," Reza said.
