RRI.CO.ID, Sukoharjo - Indonesian junior tennis duo Komang Bagus Wahyu Purustama and Joachim Mika Gunawan captured the doubles crown at the 2026 DETEC J30 International Tennis Tournament, defeating their toughest rivals in straight sets.

The final, held at Gelora Merdeka Tennis Stadium in Sukoharjo, Central Java, on Friday, June 5, 2026, saw the second-seeded pair overcome Rafa Jeconia Verdasco Mangunsong and Alfaradu Sumirat with a score of 7-6(2), 6-3.

For 14-year-old Komang, the victory was especially sweet. A standout talent nurtured by Kentoeng Tennis Academy Sukoharjo, he reflected on the intensity of the match. “The first set was tough. Alfa and Rafa kept pressing, and I wasn’t ready to return their shots," Komang said.

"Most of my replies went out or into the net. Luckily, I managed to stay focused in the tiebreak. In the second set, Rafa had a leg cramp, so we concentrated on finishing the match quickly, avoiding unforced errors, and playing more cleanly,” he added.

The young athlete from Bali expressed joy at sweeping the doubles titles and praised his partnership with Mika.

“I’m very proud of this achievement. It was exciting to team up with Mika again. We were more in sync, complementing each other’s play. I learned a lot from our first time together at ITF Jakarta. So, when Mika asked me again after I returned from the Davis Cup, I immediately agreed,” Komang continued.

Seventeen-year-old Mika, a student at Life Community School, West Jakarta, shared his delight. “Komang’s hands are special. Playing with him feels great,” Mika remarked.

Despite the triumph, Komang remains determined not to rest on his laurels, setting his sights on competing in overseas tournaments to further his career.

Meanwhile, Rafa Jeconia Verdasco Mangunsong must regroup quickly after the loss, as he is scheduled to face American player Brandon Putra in the boys’ singles final.

On the women’s side, Indonesia’s representatives fell short. The duo of Kaylee Tandjung (16) and Quirina Trea finished as runners-up after losing to Taiwan-China pair Ke Chieh Hsu and Xinran Yan 1-6, 2-6.
