Indonesia U-19 Schedule for the AFF U-19 2026 Championship

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s U-19 national team will begin its campaign in the 2026 AFF U-19 Championship by facing Myanmar in the opening match of Group A. The Young Garuda enter the tournament as defending champions and are aiming to retain the title in front of their home supporters.

The 2026 ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship is being held in Indonesia from June 1 to June 13, 2026. Three stadiums have been selected as venues: North Sumatra Main Stadium, Teladan Stadium, and Madya Stadium.

Based on the tournament draw, Indonesia U-19 have been placed in Group A alongside Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. Competition in the group is expected to be intense, with all teams targeting a place in the semifinals.

The match against Myanmar will be an important early test for the Young Garuda squad. As the opening fixture, it could play a key role in determining Indonesia’s path to the knockout stage.

The atmosphere at North Sumatra Main Stadium in Deli Serdang is expected to be filled with support from Indonesian fans. Playing on home soil is considered a significant advantage for the Indonesian U-19 team.

In the previous edition, Indonesia emerged as champions after defeating Thailand in the final. That success provides a confidence boost as the Young Garuda seek another strong campaign this year.

However, Myanmar cannot be underestimated. Based on past meetings, Indonesia U-19 have often found it difficult to overcome Myanmar at youth level.

In addition to Myanmar, Indonesia will face Timor-Leste and Vietnam in Group A. The match against Vietnam is expected to be one of the most decisive fixtures in the battle for the top spot in the standings.

To qualify for the semifinals, the Young Garuda must either win the group or finish as one of the best runners-up. As a result, every group-stage match will be crucial to Indonesia’s campaign.
