RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rider Kiandra Ramadhipa finished tenth in the opening race of the third round of the 2026 Red Bull Rookies Cup at Italy’s Mugello Circuit on Saturday, May 30.
The race marked the fifth of the season. Ramadhipa was forced to start from 16th position after receiving a penalty, despite originally qualifying fourth, according to Antara.
The 13-lap contest featured intense battles among the world’s top young riders. Japan’s Ryota Ogiwara, starting from P2, immediately took the lead, while the 16-year-old Indonesian dropped to 14th in the early laps.
In his second year in the championship, Ramadhipa showed resilience, climbing into the top ten and briefly reaching fourth place. However, a setback on lap seven pushed him down to 17th. He recovered to tenth by lap eight and surged back into the top five with three laps remaining.
Drama unfolded on the final lap. Entering the last corner in eighth place, Ramadhipa lost his line and slipped to tenth at the checkered flag.
Ogiwara claimed victory, followed by Beñat Fernandez in second and Jakob Kratochwil in third.
Ramadhipa earned six points from his finish, bringing his season total to 56. He now sits fourth in the overall standings, 38 points behind leader Fernandez.
The second race of the Mugello round is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, at 13:35 WIB, ahead of the seventh round of the MotoGP premier class later that evening. The Rookies Cup will then move to Assen, Netherlands, for its fourth round from June 26–28, coinciding with MotoGP’s tenth round. ***
