RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - RRI Voice of Indonesia (VOI) will celebrate the 2026 World Cup by featuring ambassadors of participating countries in Indonesia in a special program. In Soccer Fiesta, the ambassadors will separately discuss aspects of this World Cup edition, especially matters related to their respective countries.

The 2026 World Cup will be different from previous editions because it will involve three host countries at once: Canada, Mexico, and the United States — all located in North America. In addition, starting from this edition, 48 countries will compete, with the tournament lasting more than a month.

One of the guest stars on Soccer Fiesta is the Ambassador of Mexico, Francisco de la Torre Galindo. Mexico is one of the countries that regularly sends its national team to the World Cup, having reached the quarterfinals in 1970 and 1986. The 2026 edition will mark the third time Mexico hosts the tournament.

The Ambassador of New Zealand, Philip Nathan Taula, will also appear on Soccer Fiesta. New Zealand, the champion of the 2024 OFC Nations Cup, has qualified for the World Cup three times: in 1982 in Spain, 2010 in South Africa, and 2026.

VOI will also feature the Ambassador of Ecuador, Luis Guillermo Arellano Jibaja. Since its debut at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, Ecuador has participated in the tournament five times, with its best achievement being the round of 16 in 2006.

Also appearing will be Jamie Ravetz, spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. Although soccer is not very popular in the United States, the country has participated in the World Cup 12 times and achieved third place in the inaugural tournament in Uruguay in 1930.

The Deputy Head of Mission at the Czech Republic Embassy in Jakarta, Radomir Karlik, will also be a guest star on Soccer Fiesta. Although the Czech Republic has rarely appeared in the World Cup in the 21st century, it finished as runner-up twice in its 12 appearances: 1934 in Italy and 1962 in Chile.

All episodes of Soccer Fiesta are scheduled to be broadcast online by VOI through the RRI Digital app and its official website, voinews.id. The program is also planned to be available on the VOI Official YouTube channel and RRI Digital, if available.
