RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia will have its first junior equestrian representative at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games Dakar after young athlete Nusrtdinov Zayan Fatih, widely known as Dinov, qualified for the equestrian show jumping event through the Asian qualification pathway.
The confirmation was announced by Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (Pordasi) after Dinov finished among the top four athletes in the Asian qualification comparison based on his performance at the FEI Jumping World Challenge Competition 3 held at Equinara Horse Sports on November 15-16, 2025.
The achievement makes Dinov the first Indonesian junior equestrian athlete to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games.
“I am very grateful to represent Indonesia at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026. Thank you to Pordasi, Aryo Djojohadikusumo, and everyone who has supported and helped me so far,” Dinov said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, May 16, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The Youth Olympic Games Dakar will take place in Dakar from October 31 to November 13, 2026, featuring 35 sports, including equestrian.
Results from the FEI Jumping World Challenge Competition 3 were compared with athletes from other Asian countries. Dinov secured a top-four position in the Asian Zone standings, earning one of only four available show jumping spots allocated to Asia.
The other athletes who qualified from Asia are Ruirui Sun of China, Neil Kendall of India, and Alya Adnan Awadh Almheiri of the United Arab Emirates.
Pordasi daily chairman Eddy Saddak described Dinov’s achievement as a historic milestone for Indonesian equestrian sports.
“Congratulations and best of luck to Dinov. We also express our gratitude because thanks to Dinov’s achievement at the Jumping World Challenge, Indonesia secured a quota to participate in the Youth Olympic Games,” Eddy said.
He encouraged Dinov to prepare thoroughly for the competition in Dakar through training programs and trial events in Europe to strengthen both technical skills and competitive mentality.
Earlier this month, Dinov also made history by becoming the first Indonesian junior equestrian athlete to win the CSI 1* 130-140cm class at the Arthayasa Open 2026 held on May 9-10.
“Please pray for and support me so I can give my best for the nation and the country,” Dinov concluded. ***
