RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian women's single shuttle Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan was eliminated in the round of 16 at the Thailand Open 2026 after losing to Thai third seed Ratchanok Intanon.

Competing at Nimibutr Stadium on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Thalita lost in three games with a final score of 16-21, 21-19, 15-21 to the Thai favorite.

After the match, Thalita said Ratchanok was a very strong opponent and that she only tried to give her best while playing without pressure. She was grateful to take one game from the Thai star.

“I was happy and excited about today’s match because I really wanted to face her. I gained valuable experience and lessons,” she said.

Thalita admitted she needs to develop stronger mental toughness and maintain focus. She said she was fairly satisfied with her performance at the Thailand Open, although there are still many aspects she wants to improve.

“Overall, I’m quite satisfied with my result at this Thailand Open, but there are still many weaknesses. I definitely want to become better,” she said.

Indonesia’s men’s singles player Moh Zaki Ubaidillah also suffered elimination after losing to Jeon Hyeok Jin in straight games, 13-21 and 5-21. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
