RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian esports team delivered a standout performance at the SEA Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, clinching gold and silver medals in the PUBG Mobile Solo category on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Head coach Richard Permana credited the success to the proactive mindset of athletes Alan Raynold Kumaseh and Fazriel Haikal Aditya, who played pivotal roles in securing the podium finishes.
“Our athletes are extremely proactive. The culture in our national team is player-centric; we want players to be more active and initiative-driven than the coach,” Richard said, as quoted by Antara.
Competing under the gamer tags “Satar” and “Yummy”, Alan and Fazriel dominated the solo matches. Alan took gold with a total of 42 points across two games, while Fazriel earned silver with 37 points. The duo also added a bronze medal in the PUBG Mobile Duo category, further underscoring their consistency.
Richard noted that the athletes’ proactive approach had been evident since their training camp in Jakarta, where they initiated independent practice sessions to adapt to the unusual tournament format. He also highlighted their resilience in overcoming scheduling delays during the competition.
“Even when faced with frustrating obstacles, our athletes stayed proactive. We created scrim rooms, invited other countries, and kept practicing despite the uncertainty,” he explained.
The PUBG Mobile event featured competitors from 10 Southeast Asian nations: Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, and Timor-Leste. The SEA ENC 2026 marked the first regional tournament organized by the Southeast Asia Esports Federation (SEAEF).
Beyond PUBG Mobile, Indonesia also fielded representatives in Teamfight Tactics and Crossfire: Legends. The Crossfire squad included Gede Bagus Panji Narajaya, Ibnu Qayyim Al Jauziah, Kautsar Faruqurrohman Ekatama, Muhammad Ilyas Alfarizi, Riddho Putra Muharam, and Tubagus Mochammad Cipta, coached by Iqbal Mauldhan Yusup. Meanwhile, Stefanus Aditya Witjaksono represented Indonesia in Teamfight Tactics.
Indonesia’s strong showing in Ho Chi Minh reflects the growing depth of its esports talent and the country’s rising profile in regional competitions. ***
