RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama secured a direct spot in qualifying two (Q2) at the French Moto3 Grand Prix after a determined comeback on Friday, May 8, 2026, in the practice session at Le Mans’ Bugatti Circuit.

The Honda Team Asia rider finished ninth with a lap time of 1 minute 40.779 seconds, Antara reported, ensuring his place among the top 14 riders who advance automatically to Q2 in the battle for pole position.

The result marked an important rebound for Veda, who had slipped outside the safe zone midway through a tense session filled with incidents. Early on, the Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, native impressed with aggressive pace, breaking into the top three alongside Alvaro Carpe of Red Bull KTM Ajo.

As the competition intensified, several riders sharpened their times on the challenging track. The session saw multiple crashes, including one involving championship leader Maximo Quiles of CFMoto Inde Aspar, followed shortly by Carpe.

David Almansa and Marco Morelli traded places at the front while Veda struggled to improve his lap, dropping as low as 16th with seven minutes remaining. Under pressure, he found his rhythm in the closing stages, producing a strong lap that briefly lifted him to fifth before settling in ninth.

Veda finished just behind Quiles and ahead of several rivals who missed the cut, including Carpe, who ended 17th. The session was topped by David Munoz of Dynavolt Liqui Moly Intact GP with the fastest time of 1 minute 40.211 seconds. (EY)
