RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian women’s shuttler team’s campaign in the 2026 Uber Cup came to an end in the semifinals. Indonesia conceded a 3-1 defeat to South Korea at Forum Horsens, Denmark, on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

In the opening match, Putri Kusuma Wardani, known as Putri KW, lost to South Korea’s An Se-young in straight games, 19-21, 5-21.

The doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi then fell to Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee in a tight three-game battle, 16-21, 21-19, 15-21.

Indonesia’s only point came from young shuttler Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan, who defeated Sim Yu-jin in straight games, 21-19, 21-19. “Even though the team was already trailing 2-0, I tried to play all-out. My coach told me to play freely, with nothing to lose,” Thalita said in an official statement on the PBSI website.

The final match saw Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum suffer a straight-game defeat, 16-21, 18-21, against Jeong Na-eun and Kim Hye-jeong. Rachel expressed her disappointment at failing to contribute a point for Indonesia. “We kept playing under their pressure, which provoked us into giving them the shots they wanted,” she said.

This defeat marked another setback for Indonesian shuttlers this year, following the Thomas Cup team’s failure to achieve the best results. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
