RRI.CO.ID, Central Lombok - Rocket Racing Bali has officially named 19-year-old Nadeem Zimraan Rustombi as their Porsche GT3 driver for the Superstar Sportscar Series. The Palembang-born prodigy is set to make his competitive debut at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit during the Mandalika Festival of Speed, held from May 2–3, 2026.
The decision to recruit the teenager was driven by a vision to project local talent onto the global stage. Speaking on the sidelines of the GT World Challenge Asia on Saturday, May 2, Rocket Racing Bali Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Purwo Handoko expressed high confidence in the young driver's potential.
“We want to promote young Indonesian drivers at the international level,” said Purwo, as quoted by Antara.
He noted that Nadeem had previously clocked an impressive 1 minute 36 seconds during practice sessions at the circuit a year ago. Nadeem will join forces with seasoned senior driver Aldio Oekon, who serves as the team’s primary driver. This veteran-rookie pairing is designed to create a synergy of experience and raw speed.
“The presence of Nadeem is expected to fly the Indonesian flag high in international events. We hope both drivers can share their experiences and passion to bring honor to Indonesia on the world stage," Purwo added.
For Nadeem, this opportunity represents a critical milestone in his burgeoning career. Beyond the prestige of driving a Porsche GT3, the partnership provides him with professional-grade facilities and a clear developmental roadmap.
"They have provided a very good plan for the future," Nadeem remarked, expressing his gratitude for the team's comprehensive support.
Approaching his first major race at the world-class venue, Nadeem remains focused on consistency and execution. While he identified the high-speed turns 7 and 8 as his favorite sections of the track, his primary goal remains grounded in professional discipline.
“My target is for the race to run smoothly and successfully,” he concluded. ***
