RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian women’s doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari secured a straight set victory at the 2026 Uber Cup quarterfinals, defeating host Denmark’s Amalie Cecilie Kudsk/Mette Werge 21-19, 21-11 at Forum Horsens, Friday morning, May 1, 2026, Jakarta time.
The victory gave Indonesia a 2-1 lead over the host nation Denmark, strengthening their push toward the semifinals.
Febriana, known as Ana, expressed gratitude for contributing a point to the team despite the added pressure of the knockout stage.
“This was our first time being fielded again since the opening group match. The court conditions didn’t change much, so adaptation went smoothly. But today was already the knockout round, so the pressure was greater. We are grateful we managed to overcome it,” she said, as quoted by Antara.
Trias reflected on the intensity of the opening game, noting Denmark’s aggressive pace. “The first game was quite tight because their play was very fast. We kept trying to play at a quick tempo, and that’s what made things difficult for them,” she explained, highlighting the key to their win.
Earlier in the tie, Indonesia’s team captain Putri Kusuma Wardani secured a straight-game victory over Line Christophersen, while Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi fell to Denmark’s Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt.
With Ana and Trias triumph, Indonesia moved closer to sealing their place in the semifinals, showcasing the depth and resilience of the squad. ***
