RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s hockey team capped their Asian Games 2026 Qualifiers campaign with resilience, clinching third place after edging Singapore 3–1 in a shootout in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, April 29.

Both sides came out aggressively, trading attacks in search of an early breakthrough. Yet solid defending and sharp goalkeeping kept the scoreline level, with the opening two quarters ending goalless, Antara reported.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 32nd minute when Lispa struck to give the hosts a 1–0 lead, which they carried into the third quarter’s close. Singapore responded in the final quarter, leveling through Valerie Sim in the 47th minute.

Indonesia hit back almost immediately, as Asri Dewi Prasasti restored the advantage a minute later. But Singapore’s persistence paid off when Ivy Chan equalized in the 52nd minute, forcing the contest into a tense finish.

With the score tied 2–2 at full time, the match went to penalties. Indonesia held their nerve, converting through Nisa Indira, Sri Rahayu, and Asri Dewi Prasasti. Singapore managed just one successful strike via Tiffany Ong, sealing Indonesia’s 3–1 shootout victory and a third-place finish.

The result marked a positive conclusion to Indonesia’s qualifying journey. Both Indonesia and Singapore had already secured their tickets to the Asian Games in Japan by reaching the semifinals. In total, six teams will advance from the qualifiers: the four semifinalists plus the fifth- and sixth-placed sides. ***
