RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s badminton team finished at the top of Group C in the 2026 Uber Cup after Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo delivered a decisive victory over Taiwan’s Huang Yu Hsun in a tense final tie at Forum Horsens, Denmark, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Ester became the match winner for Indonesia, overcoming a slow start to win 15-21, 21-19, 21-12, sealing a narrow 3-2 overall victory and confirming Indonesia’s place as group leaders heading into the quarterfinals, Antara reported.

The tie began with Indonesia taking the lead through Putri Kusuma Wardani, who defeated Chiu Pin Chian 21-17, 21-17 in the opening match. Taiwan responded immediately, leveling the score after Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti fell to Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En Tzu 21-23, 13-21.

Momentum then shifted further when Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi lost a tightly contested match against Lin Hsiang Ti 10-21, 29-30, putting Indonesia behind 1-2.

Facing elimination pressure, Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum kept Indonesia alive with a dramatic comeback win over Hsu Yin Hui/Lin Jhih Yun 11-21, 22-20, 21-16, leveling the tie at 2-2.

The decisive fifth match saw Ester step up under pressure. After dropping the first game, she recovered strongly to overturn the match and secure Indonesia’s overall win.
