RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s shuttler team opened their campaign in Group C of the 2026 Uber Cup with a hard-fought victory. Competing in Horsens, Denmark, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Red-and-White squad overcame strong resistance from Canada to secure a narrow 3-2 win.
The doubles pair Febriana Dwipandji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari delivered a solid performance in the second match, defeating Jackie Dent and Crystal Lai in straight games, 23-21, 21-10.
Indonesia’s second doubles team, Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, followed up with another convincing win, beating Catherine Choi and Josephine Wu 21-18, 21-11 to secure Indonesia’s third point.
In the singles category, Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan shone as the second singles player, overcoming Wen Yu Zhang 21-16, 21-19 to keep Indonesia’s hopes alive as the tie grew tense.
Canada struck back through their star player, Michelle Li, who turned the tide in the opening match. After losing the first game to Putri Kusuma Wardani, Li rallied to win 16-21, 21-11, 21-16.
