RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Two of Indonesia’s rising badminton players are stepping into the spotlight with the weight and inspiration of a recent near-triumph behind them as the country prepares for the Uber Cup 2026.

The two shuttlers, Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi (19) and Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan (18), set to make their debut in the prestigious women’s team tournament while carrying forward the momentum of Indonesia’s runner-up finish at the 2024 Uber Cup.

Entering their third day of centralized training camp in Horsens, Denmark, both players expressed excitement about being part of the national squad and readiness to contribute if selected for matches.

“Of course, I’m very happy to be chosen to represent Indonesia in the Uber team, and I’m really excited to look forward to the matches,” Dhinda said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Monday, April 20, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Thalita, the youngest member of the squad, is focusing on enjoying the experience without being burdened by expectations.

“I’m the youngest here, so I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to turn it into pressure, but instead try to play freely,” Thalita said.

Both players highlighted the importance of support from senior teammates in helping them adapt quickly to the team environment.

Thalita said, the strong sense of unity has accelerated their adjustment. “The seniors give full support. We continue to build communication and chemistry, there’s no distance between us,” she said.

Dhinda added that daily interactions during the training camp have fostered openness within the team.

“Every day we share and discuss things. The seniors try to create a comfortable and open team atmosphere,” she said.

For Dhinda, Indonesia’s run to the 2024 final remains a personal source of motivation. “I watched it on television and saw how extraordinary the team’s struggle was," she said.

"Now I want to experience that moment and try to contribute points if given the chance,” she added.

The Indonesian team is currently intensifying both technical and physical preparations ahead of the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cups.

At the 2026 Uber Cup, Indonesia has been drawn into Group C alongside Taiwan, Canada, and Australia. ***
