RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s passionate football fans left a lasting impression on global legends, with former stars Sebastian Frey and Ronaldo Nazario expressing admiration after a high-profile exhibition match in Jakarta.

Legendary former Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastian Frey said he plans to return to Indonesia for a holiday after receiving an overwhelmingly warm welcome during the Clash of Legends sportainment match.

Frey, who represented DRX World Legends, said he was deeply moved by the enthusiasm of Indonesian supporters.

“You treated us like kings. So, thank you everyone, we really enjoyed it and I will come back again for a holiday next time,” Frey told reporters in Jakarta on Saturday night, April 18, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

DRX World Legends were defeated 3-0 by Barca Legends at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, but Frey said the experience remained memorable thanks to the vibrant atmosphere created by fans.

“Unfortunately for us, Barcelona won, but it’s okay. We really enjoyed the moment here in Indonesia because of you,” he said.

The Frenchman, who spent much of his career in Italy’s top league, added that he was not surprised by the strong reception, noting Indonesia’s large and passionate Serie A fan base.

Meanwhile, former Brazilian football star Ronaldo Nazario, who coached DRX World Legends, also expressed emotion over the reception he received.

“I have said that Indonesians have an extraordinary passion for football. I was also touched by the welcome I received throughout my stay here, from the day before the match until tonight,” Ronaldo said during a press conference in Jakarta.

He thanked fans for filling Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and supporting the event. “Thank you for coming to this incredible stadium. Hopefully we can meet again on another occasion. Thank you, Indonesia,” said the two-time World Cup winner.

Barca Legends secured a convincing 3-0 victory over DRX World Legends in the exhibition match.
