RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women’s badminton team is aiming to make a strong impact at the 2026 Uber Cup, scheduled to take place in Horsens from April 24 to May 3. 2026, with captain Putri Kusuma Wardhani expressing confidence in the team’s ability to deliver a strong performance.
“We remain positive even though the group stage will be tough with Canada, Chinese Taipei, and Australia,” Putri said on Wednesday, April 15, as quoted by Antara.
She expressed hopes the team can replicate its success from two years ago, when Indonesia reached the final of the Thomas and Uber Cup.
That achievement serves as a key motivation for the team, although the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has set a step-by-step target, with the immediate goal of advancing from the group stage.
Putri, as the team's captain, said she is ready to take on the responsibility of leading the squad to compete at a higher level.
“It is definitely an honor for me to be elected as captain and trusted by the team and my teammates,” she said.
The Indonesian team is scheduled to depart for Denmark on April 16, with a training camp planned from April 18 to 21 to adapt to the venue and weather conditions. ***
