RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s national football team secured a convincing 4–2 victory against New Caledonia in the FIFA Series Women 2026, held at Dragon Solar Park Stadium in Ratchaburi, Thailand, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

The win showcased both attacking flair and resilience from the Garuda Pertiwi squad under coach Satoru Mochizuki.

From the opening whistle, Indonesia pressed aggressively, creating multiple chances. Claudia Alexandra Scheunemann spearheaded early attacks, while the breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Emily Nahon, positioned unexpectedly, converted a corner kick, Antara reported.

Wearing the number 4 jersey, Nahon had to throw herself forward to score, marking her first goal for Indonesia after 11 appearances. Just eight minutes later, Sheva Imut doubled the lead with a curling strike into the top left corner, leaving New Caledonia’s goalkeeper Elizabeth helpless.

Indonesia entered halftime with a 2–0 advantage. The second half began with Sheva once again demonstrating her pace and precision, scoring her second goal in the 53rd minute to make it 3–0. Five minutes later, Claudia finally found her mark, unleashing a long-range effort that beat Elizabeth and extended the lead to 4–0.

However, defensive lapses allowed New Caledonia back into the game. Julia Honakoko capitalized on Indonesia’s momentary disorganization to score in the 60th minute, followed by a stunning strike from Leana Hmae that slipped beyond goalkeeper Iris de Rouw, narrowing the gap to 4–2.

Despite late pressure, including a free kick attempt by Isa Guusje Warps in the 85th minute, Indonesia held firm through five minutes of added time to secure the win.

The result highlights Indonesia’s growing confidence and attacking depth, with standout performances from Sheva, Claudia, and Nahon. It also underscores areas for improvement in defense as the team continues its campaign in Thailand. ***
