RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta -Indonesia is seeking to expand its global partnerships in youth development and sports, as Youth and Sport Minister Erick Thohir received a visit from Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Gennadievich Tolchenov and his delegation at the ministry’s office in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2026.
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities and agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation in youth and sports development. Minister Erick said that Indonesia is focusing on expanding international exposure for its youth while also enhancing collaboration in athlete development and priority sports.
“In addition, we are opening opportunities to explore the potential of the sports industry, including innovation in Phygital Games as part of the digital transformation of sports,” he added, as quoted on the Youth and Sports Ministry official website.
The meeting is expected to contribute to human resource development among young people and improve national sports performance.
“This collaboration is expected to encourage a brighter future for Indonesia’s younger generation on the global stage while also improving the country’s sports achievements in the future,” he concluded. ***
